My kids love these fresh, fruit-filled, healthy smoothies. They’ll drink them for breakfast or have them as a snack when they come home from school. I love them too. I often don’t eat enough fruit, especially in the winter when the fruit is bland and unappealing, and this is a great way to add some fruit into your diet. Strawberries and orange juice are filled with vitamin C and fiber. Mangoes have vitamin A, bananas potassium, and blueberries are an antioxidant super-food. I also sometimes add 2 tablespoons of ground flax seeds for protein and added fiber.
1 cup orange juice
1 cup cut-up strawberries
1 cup cut-up mango (Trader Joe’s has great frozen mango)
½ cup blueberries
* Add ½ kiwi or ¼ avocado for a splash of green
Put everything in a blender and puree until smooth!
